About Figueroa

I am a bilingual, board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. I was born and raised until the age of 12 in Lima, Peru. Since moving to the United States, I have been residing in Phoenix, Arizona, where I also completed all of my professional education.

I acquired my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Arizona State University in 2008. I started my career working at a Medical/Surgical unit that focused on pulmonary medicine and treated various conditions ranging from asthma to cystic fibrosis. After five years, I ventured into the area of orthopedics and post-surgical care including joint replacement, bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, and hysterectomies. While there, I was offered the opportunity to work as a charge nurse of this post-surgical/orthopedic unit, which I did for the last 6 years of my career. I managed the unit to support the workflow and the nursing staff.

While continuing to work, I decided to advance in my profession and obtain my Masters of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Grand Canyon University. I graduated early 2021 and since have been working at a family practice that serves both Spanish and English speaking populations.

I enjoy being a Nurse Practitioner because it gives me the opportunity to provide the ideal care for my patients’ medical needs, and to work together with them to improve their health and prevent further illness. Being multicultural allows me to provide empathetic care to diverse patient populations and groups.

I am newly married and on my days off I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, as well as being outdoors as much as possible to enjoy this beautiful Arizona weather.
